Friday afternoon, at the Burlington Golf and Country Club, British Columbia, skipped by Jason Montgomery of Duncan eked out a 10-9 extra end win over Manitoba, skipped by Dave Boehmer of Selkirk.

British Columbia squandered an 8-3 lead after six ends, when Manitoba took three in the ninth and stole one in the 10th to force the extra frame.  But Montgomery, with hammer, prevailed, to advance to tonight’s semi-final at 6:00 pm ET against host Ontario, skipped by Mark Bice of Sarnia.  In Draw 4 of the round robin, Ontario pounded British Columbia, 10-4.

Both British Columbia and Manitoba had finished tied for third with 8-3 records, thus forcing the afternoon tiebreaker to determine third place.

Ontario and Nova Scotia, skipped by Mark Dacey of Halifax, finished tied for top spot with 9-2 records, but ‘the bluenosers’ were given the nod for first place because of their 8-7 round robin win to advance to the final.

The semi-final winner will then challenge Nova Scotia on Saturday in the 1:30 pm final.
