World Volunteers Test Drive the New Ford Flex

The 2010 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship is on its way to Swift Current March 20 – 28 at the Credit Union i-plex. And when it gets here, everyone’s in for an amazing ride! You’ll be seeing the new Ford Flex – official vehicle for the event – all around the Swift Current region as volunteers transport athletes and officials to and from the arena during the world championships. Recently the volunteers got the chance to test out the Flex from Cypress Motors – one of twenty vehicles that will be on duty for nine exciting days in March. Volunteers are vital to the success of a world championship event and the host committee is still looking for recruits. “Swift Current is well respected for its great volunteerism,” notes Lorna Spencer, Vice-Chair of Volunteers. “We already have commitments from 390 volunteers… but we anticipate the need for as many as 450. We still need people to get involved as drivers, security, ice makers and officials.” You can volunteer by calling the event office at 306.773.4020 or going online to the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship website at seasonofchampions.ca “Cypress Motors is proud to be the official vehicle supplier for the 2010 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship,” said spokesman Jeff Parsons. “It gives us a chance to showcase two of our favorite new vehicles.” Each of the 12 teams will be provided a Ford Flex, and eight Ford Edges will be used by Canadian Curling Association personnel and volunteers during the event. After the championship the vehicles will be available for purchase at special pricing. A World-Class Gift for the Holidays! If you have curling fans on your list just put Rocks in their Socks!
