The following are features the CCA will institute on February 16 – the day curling starts at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games:

Daily News from the Games – Once a day during the curling competition the “Olympic Insider” will blog to www.curling.ca about what is happening off the ice with the Canadian teams, the latest around the curling venue and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Check www.curling.ca when you wake each morning to read the latest from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Vancouver Olympic Centre/Paralympic Centre.

Photos from Vancouver 2010 – The Canadian Curling Association’s official photographer, Mike Burns, will be on hand at the Hillcrest curling facility for the entire time curling is being played at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games (February 16 – 27). Mike will be posting exclusive photos every day throughout the competition covering all the curling action on www.curling.ca

Send the Canadian Curling Teams Words of Encouragement – Help cheer on Kevin Martin, Cheryl Bernard and the entire Canadian curling contingent in Vancouver via e-mail through www.curling.ca. Simply send your team message to teamcanadamen@curling.ca and teamcanadawomen@curling.ca and your wishes will be viewed by the teams. Some messages will be posted in the Olympic team locker room for inspiration.

Wear the Canadian Team Uniform – You can wear the same on-ice uniform as Kevin Martin, Cheryl Bernard and their teammates by simply going to www.curling.ca to fully view what the teams are wearing and then follow instructions on how you can place your order for a jacket, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt. These authentic uniforms are made by Mondetta, the official uniform supplier of the Canadian Curling Association and are the exclusive Canadian Team uniform for our Olympians. THIS MERCHANDISE IS ON SALE NOW!

The CCA is represented in men’s curling by the Kevin Martin team of Edmonton with John Morris playing third, Marc Kennedy, second and Ben Hebert, lead. Martin won the right to represent Canada when he won the Canadian Curling Trials in Edmonton, December 6 – 13, 2009 by defeating Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ontario, 7 – 3 in the final. On the women’s side, Canada’s representative is Cheryl Bernard of Calgary with Susan O’Connor at third, Carolyn Darbyshire, second and Cori Bartel, lead. In the Canadian Curling Trials, Bernard defeated fellow Calgarian and 2006 Olympic Bronze medalist Shannon Kleibrink in the final with a last rock draw for a single and a 7 – 6 victory.
