The Continental Cup Introduces Single Draw Tickets

The 2011 World Financial Group Continental Cup is coming to St. Albert, January 13 – 16 at Servus Credit Union Place.  And now fans have the chance to purchase individual tickets for any one of the 11 draws featuring the best curlers in the world.

Single draw tickets go on sale starting 10:00 am December 15 at a price of $30 for Thursday and Friday, $35 for Saturday draws and $40 for the Sunday matches.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 780-451-8000 or online at seasonofchampions.ca.  All prices include service charges and GST. “Pick the games you want to see at the times that suit your own schedule,” said Mike Howes, Host Committee Chair.  “It’s a great value to see great curling… and with the holiday season just around the corner, it’s also a great gift idea.” The finest players in the world will be right here in St. Albert to battle for the Continental Cup… including many of the athletes from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  Team North America faces Team world in a challenge competition. Six teams on each side – three men’s and three women’s – compete in Team Games, Mixed Doubles, Singles and Skins competitions. The Continental Cup format is based on points.  A total of 400 are at stake over the four days, with varying amounts applied to each discipline.  The first team to reach 201 takes the title. Every ticket also includes complimentary admission to Keith’s Patch – curling’s legendary party place where fans and competitors alike share an appealing array of food, refreshments and live entertainment.  Feature performers include The Classics (Wednesday, Jan. 12), Hey Romeo (Thursday, Jan. 13), Karac Hendriks and The Chevelles (Friday, Jan. 14) and Tera Lee and Souled Out (Saturday, Jan. 15).
