The Young and the Restless are Heading to Cranbrook

Rachel Homan has been making waves in the curling world since the age of 14, winning four consecutive Ontario Provincial Bantam Championships between 2003 and 2006.  This year she leads one of the hottest young teams on the women’s curling circuit to Cranbrook for the Canada Cup.

At the 2010 M&M Canadian Junior Curling Championships she skipped her team to the top of the podium with an undefeated record, finishing off the season with a silver medal performance at the world junior’s in Flims, Switzerland. Still too young to qualify for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts playdowns, the Homan squad turned its focus to the World Women’s Curling Tour where they won two straight Southwestern Ontario Women’s Charity Cashspiels. In 2011 Homan earned her first trip to the Scotties and was in contention all week, winding up with a fourth place finish.  Based on last season’s points standings in the Canadian Team Ranking System they’ll be playing for the 2011 Canada Cup starting November 30th in the Cranbook Rec Plex. Homan will be on the ice with Emma Miskew, Alison Kreviasuk and Lisa Weagle.  You can be there too just by clicking here to buy your tickets now.
