Junior Stars Shine Bright at the Kingston Scotties

The 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts is coming to Kingston for the first time February 16-24 at the K-Rock Centre and the Host Committee is providing the opportunity for a group of young stars of the future to share the championship curling experience. The 24 junior curlers selected to take part in the Junior Stars program will receive a ticket for themselves and two parents/guardians to one of the round robin draws, an official Junior Stars jacket, an event pin, a photo with their team and introduction at a pre-game ceremony. The contest is open to curlers between the ages of 12 and 18 that are registered members of one of the five local curling clubs in Kingston and area.  This includes the Cataraqui, Royal Kingston, Gananoque, Napanee and Garrison clubs.  Two junior curlers will be assigned to each of the teams competing in the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Applicants can register online by clicking here. Entrants must include a 100-word essay describing: “Why you want to be one of the Junior Stars”.  There is no cost to enter and entries are limited to one per person.  Winners are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, parking and meals.  The entry deadline is December 15, 2012. “Junior Stars provides a wonderful opportunity for the kids to enjoy a first-hand experience of one of the game’s most prestigious championships,” said Ken Thompson, Host Chair for the Scotties.  “It’s going to be very exciting for them to meet some of their idols in person.” “You Gotta Be There” for the unique experience of live championship curling at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.  Reserve your seats now by clicking here.
