Moose Jaw’s Ready to Party at the Capital One Canada Cup

The brightest stars in Canadian curling are coming to Moose Jaw November 28-December 2 for the Capital One Canada Cup at Mosaic Place – the city’s new state-of-the-art sports and entertainment complex. The elite field includes the top 14 teams in the country – seven men’s and seven women’s – qualifying on the basis of their success during the past season’s competitive schedule. Along with Capital One Canada Cup championship honours, one team of each gender has the opportunity for direct entry to the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings – and the chance to represent Canada in the 2014 Olympic Games. While the action is underway on the ice in Mosaic Place, the party of a lifetime will be rocking right next door in The Original 16 Patch at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre. “The Patch is the place where fans have the chance to take in the full experience of live championship curling,” said Host Chair Danielle Sicinski.  “It’s something you just don’t get when you’re sitting back at home watching the event on television.” The Original 16 Patch is a fan-friendly environment with a great selection of food and beverages and an outstanding lineup of entertainment featuring some of the country’s hottest bands.

It’s also home to Team Autograph sessions and Up Close and Personal interviews with the athletes.  Plus, fans can get in the game to compete for a championship of their own in the Cool Shots competition – the small-scale version of the roaring game played on shuffleboard-style tables. Special theme nights in the Patch highlight Little Chicago on Tuesday, Sea of Green on Thursday, showcasing the province-wide pride in the Saskatchewan’s traditional colour and Sea of Red Friday in recognition of the hometown Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League. The best part is, admission is free with every ticket.  Single draw tickets are available starting at just $20 for the first nine draws. Tickets for the four draws on Saturday and Sunday, including the semi-finals and finals, are priced at $25.  Check out all the fun in The Original 16 Patch!
