Cochrane part of ROARTARIO field

Ten Ontario teams will be on the ice in the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex, Nov. 5-10, for the 2013 Capital One Road to the Roar, presented by Monsanto – taking their last shot at qualifying to compete for a Canadian medal in curling at the 2014 Olympic Games. The Bryan Cochrane team from the City View Curling Club in Ottawa will be part of the ‘Ontario 10’, vying for the right to move on to the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, presented by Monsanto, Dec. 1-8 in Winnipeg.

Out of the 24-team field at the Road to the Roar Pre-Trials event, only two of each gender will keep their Olympic dreams alive by earning a trip to the Canadian Curling Trials in Winnipeg’s MTS Centre. Cochrane, skip of the Ontario entry in the 2003 Brier, will be calling the shots in Kitchener, but Mat Camm, who led the 2011 Canadian junior men’s silver medal-winning team, will be throwing last stones. The Cochrane squad also includes third Chris Gardner and lead Brad Kidd, members of the 2011 representatives for Ontario at the Canadian mixed curling championship. “You’ve Gotta Be There” for the Capital One Road to the Roar.
