Dreams will come to life in Kitchener
- Updated: February 12, 2013
Twenty-four of Canada’s top curling teams will still be on the outside looking in at the chance to represent Canada in Sochi, Russia when the 2013 Capital One Road to the Roar comes to Kitchener, Nov. 5-10.
With a trip to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games just three months down the road, every team on the ice at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex will be focused on taking the next step to the podium at the biggest stage in the sporting world.
The Road to the Roar will determine the final four teams – two men’s and two women’s – to fill out the 16-team field competing at the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, Dec. 1-8 in Winnipeg.
Defending Canadian and world champion Glenn Howard has already qualified for the final showdown in Winnipeg. And, John Epping, Rachel Homan and Sherry Middaugh are close to locking up spots as well.
But, fans can look forward to some home-province favourites on the ice in Kitchener this November. Among the frontrunners in the race for the final 24 spots is Ontario’s Brad Jacobs… and, some of the best from the rest of the country including Shannon Kleibrink, Crystal Webster, Cheryl Bernard, Brad Gushue, Rob Fowler and Jim Cotter.
Now, curling fans can get a front row seat for the drama when these dedicated athletes, who have worked so hard over the past four years, take their last shot at turning the ultimate dream into reality.
The Old Classic full event pass, priced at $169, captures the excitement of every single shot over all 18 draws, including championship weekend.
For those with busy schedules during the week, Double Impact features two tickets for the final three round robin draws Friday and all six playoff draws on the weekend. The $209 package provides two fans with nine draws of incredible curling.
