Two great ways to Roar for the hometown four

When the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, presented by Monsanto, hits the ice at the MTS Centre, Dec. 1-8, four Winnipeg teams will fight for the right to represent Canada at the 2014 Olympic Games.

Jennifer Jones, Jeff Stoughton, Chelsea Carey and Mike McEwen will carry the hometown hopes in the 16-team field at the Canadian Curling Trials. The Host Committee has announced the introduction of two mini packs that provide the perfect way for fans to take in all the excitement of the country’s most important curling championship.

“We know die-hard Manitoba fans will be cheering loud and proud for our four local favourites,” said Host Chair Mitch Tarapasky. “With these two new ticket offers, we’re also hoping to attract the arm-chair enthusiasts that enjoy watching the game on television, but haven’t been in the building for the amazing experience of live championship curling.”

The Flex is an eight-ticket package that allows fans the opportunity to pick the draws that work best for their schedule. Priced at just $229, it represents a saving of nearly 25 per cent compared to single draw walk-up tickets. A maximum of two tickets can be used for the two gold medal games.

The Champ, also priced at $229, guarantees the same seat in the MTS Centre for the final seven draws including the two gold medal matches.

The Old Classic full-event package is still available featuring a guaranteed seat for all 18 draws at a cost of $429.

Every same-day ticket to the Roar of the Rings also includes complimentary admission to the Patch, curling’s legendary party place, situated in the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The Patch, with a great selection of food and beverages, will rock all week long to the sounds of some of Canada’s top bands. And for fans feeling the competitive spirit, there’s the chance to win cash prizes in the Cool Shots playdowns – the tabletop version of the roaring game.

Plus, there are plenty of opportunities to meet face-to-face with the athletes at Team Autograph sessions and Up Close and Personal interviews!
