Curling Canada – 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings – Canadian Olympic Curling Trials
Presented by Monsanto

Visitor Guide: Welcome to Winnipeg!

In 2013 Winnipeg will be the proud host of the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings – the Canadian Curling Trials – when two teams will earn the privilege of wearing the maple leaf two months later in Sochi.

The men’s and women’s teams that take our next shot at Olympic gold will be crowned in the city that is home to countless legends of the game.  The legacy founded by the likes of Howard Wood, Ken Watson and Don Duguid has grown stronger through the decades with the success of contemporary champions such as Kerry Burtnyk, Jeff Stoughton and Jennifer Jones.

Along with an intense passion for curling, Winnipeg is also renowned for a vibrant cultural and entertainment environment, an arts and music scene that’s teeming with talent and an abundance of fine dining and shopping.

MTS Centre

The curling world witnessed the debut of the MTS Centre when Winnipeg played host to the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier.  The 15,000-seat sports and entertainment complex, home to the Winnipeg Jets, earned a reputation during the 2011-12 season as the loudest and most boisterous building in the National Hockey League… just imagine the roar when our two Olympic teams step up to the podium next December!
