Sidorova back in the hack at Ford World Women’s

Compared to the pressure of carrying Russia’s hopes in women’s curling at the Sochi Olympic Games, the 2014 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Booster Juice, might just be a welcome relief for Anna Sidorova. The young skip finished Olympic round-robin play in ninth place with a 3-6 record, but battled hard against some of the toughest teams in the game. Now, she moves on to Saint John for the world championship, March 15-23 at Harbour Station.

At just 23 years of age, Sidorova already has her fair share of experience in international competition, wearing Russian colours at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics and the past four world women’s championships. She also competed four times for the country at the world juniors, winning bronze medals in 2011 and 2012, and struck gold at the 2012 European Curling Championship and 2013 Winter Universiade (World University Games).
