More than 400 runners took part in the two-day event with the five- and 10-kilometre races taking place on Saturday and the marathon on Sunday. There was added significance for the Sunday endurance test, accredited for the first time as an official qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Volunteers distributed promotional material for the 2014 Brier, coming to the Interior Savings Centre, March 1-9, as well as continuing the recruitment campaign to bolster the volunteer force. Participants and spectators alike tested their skills in the popular Rock Pong game, and Yvette Oleson was announced as the winner of the July draw for an opening weekend Brier ticket package.

Busy days lie ahead for the promotions team with appearances scheduled for Ribfest Aug. 9 – 11, Hot Nite in the City on Aug. 10 and the BC Seniors Games Aug. 20 – 21. Everyone is invited to stop by the Brier booth for the chance to win prizes playing Rock Pong.
