A November to remember for Tim Hortons Brier volunteers
- Updated: December 4, 2013
A busy November schedule for 2014 Tim Hortons Brier volunteers wound down with three consecutive events to promote the Canadian men’s curling championship, coming to Kamloops March 1-9, 2014.
The festivities kicked off with Lights in the Night, Nov. 28. The family-oriented event attracted a large crowd to St. Andrew’s Square for the lighting of the Christmas tree. Many of them visited the Tim Hortons Brier booth to play Rock Pong and enter the In It To Win It contest for the chance to take home a Rocks in Your Socks ticket package.
Volunteers were right back at it the following night for the Tailgate Party, presented by the City of Kamloops and Tourism Kamloops, prior to the Kamloops Blazers WHL game at Interior Savings Centre. Hundreds of fans enjoyed complimentary Tim Hortons hot chocolate and entered the Ultimate Tim Hortons Brier Getaway draw. They also had the chance to pose for photos with the Tankard trophy.
The Tailgate Party moves on to Prince George, Dec. 6-7, Abbotsford Dec. 12 and Langley Dec. 13, where Global BC weatherman Mark Madryga, a native of Kamloops, will be on hand to meet with fans.
Following the annual Kamloops Santa Claus Parade, Nov. 30, families made their way to Interior Savings Centre for RBC Sports Day in Canada. The Tim Hortons Brier booth was front and centre again, with volunteers promoting the upcoming men’s championship and encouraging youngsters to get involved in the sport.
The schedule is taking shape for the Tankard Tour in the new year. Details will be provided right here on the Tim Hortons Brier website.
