Young Japanese skip back on main stage of world curling

At just 22 years of age, Satsuki Fujisawa will be leading her team from Nagano, Japan into the 2014 World Financial Group Continental Cup, Jan. 16-19 in Las Vegas.
The Japanese squad will be part of Team World for the unique global curling event where they will face Team North America in the 10th edition of the Ryder Cup-style competition,
Fujisawa is a two-time winner at the Pacific Junior Curling Championships (2008 and 2009) and gold-medallist at the 2012 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships.
The team moved up the international ranks in 2013, wearing their country’s colours in the world women’s curling championship – a breakthrough that ultimately earned an invitation to the World Financial Group Continental Cup.
Teammates Miyo Ichikawa, Emi Shimizu and Chiaki Matsumura will join Fujisawa on the ice surface of the Orleans Arena.
