Scotties entertaining in so many ways!
- Updated: December 20, 2013
When the Scotties Tournament of Hearts comes to Montreal for the first time ever, Feb. 1-9, 2014 in the Maurice-Richard Arena, the best teams in the country will generate a world of excitement at the Canadian women’s curling championship.
But just a short walk away, in the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau, the friendly volunteer hosts in the HeartStop Lounge will be ready to welcome fans to an entirely different world of entertainment. The HeartStop, home to the social-side of the sport, is where fans gather to enjoy the wide array food and beverages, and kick up their heels to an outstanding lineup of live bands.
The party will rock all day, and late into the night, during all nine days of competition at the Scotties. The entertainment schedule is still being finalized, but one of Montreal’s most popular bands – the Freddie James Project – has been confirmed for performances Friday and Saturday of the closing weekend.
James and his six-piece band have a legion of fans, in their home city and throughout the world, touring extensively in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.
The HeartStop is also the place curling fans can meet with the athletes at Up Close and Personal interviews and Team Autograph sessions. Interviews with Scotties team members will take place Feb. 1-7 and they’ll be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos Feb. 3-8.
For those fans that feel the urge to get in on the competition, sign up for free to play Cool Shots. It’s the tabletop version of the roaring game with cash prizes awarded to the top shooters.
Admission to the HeartStop Lounge is included with every same-day event pass. Updates to the entertainment schedule will be featured on the Scotties Tournament of Hearts website.
