Become a member of our Volunteer Team!

Volunteers are the backbone of events – it is the value of these extra hands that enables organizations to offer activities that may not otherwise happen. Their meaningful contributions both behind and in front of the scenes are indispensable and their tireless efforts are often as profound as the event itself.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Scotties!

The Scotties Tournament of Hearts brings together the best in curling from competitors, to spectators, to volunteers – becoming a community with one goal in mind – a great curling event. Volunteers invest their time, ensuring that this year’s competition is not only successful, but memorable for all parties – from organization to participant level, attendees and everyone in between.

The 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal, Quebec will require approximately 400 volunteers to fill a wide range of positions in the months leading up to the event, as well as during the week of the championship. Duties range from roles in transportation, security and hospitality in the HeartStop to scorekeepers and program sales.

If you’d like to become part of the Volunteer Team, simply complete the Volunteer Application Form below. Once submitted, your application will be processed in the next 4-6 weeks and you will receive notification of acceptance shortly after that.

Volunteer Application Form

  • General Information:
    • You must be 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2014 to volunteer at the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
    • Dependent on response from volunteers, all applications MAY NOT be required or accepted.
    • The dates of the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts are from February 1 - 9, 2014. Setup will begin on Monday, January 27th, 2014.
    • All applicants will be contacted regarding their application no later than September 30, 2013.
    • Every effort will be made to assign volunteers to their area of choice. We hope many volunteers will want to assist in any area. Volunteers may be asked to assist in one of the many pre-event promotions or events that will take place before the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
    • To guarantee a seat in the arena to watch the curling, volunteers should purchase tickets or ticket packages.
    Conditions of Volunteering: By applying to become a Volunteer for the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts you acknowledge and agree with the following:
    • A minimum contribution of 30 hours of volunteer service will be required for the event.
    • All accepted Volunteers are required to pay a $100 Volunteer Rewards Package Fee, payable to “2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.”
    • This payment will be collected at the first Volunteer Pep Rally in the fall of 2013. (date to be determined)
    • Authorization to perform a background check.
    • Authorization for photographs to be taken and used by the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
    • Photo identification is required at the Volunteer Rewards pickup.

    • Invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party.
    • Opportunity to access the Arena Maurice-Richard with your accreditation. This does not guarantee a seat or the opportunity to watch curling.
  • Select the area(s) you would like to volunteer for in order of preference. ** You must select two (2) areas, although we will make every effort to place you in your first choice.
