Women & Girls in Sport

February 7, 2024 – National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Curling Canada is proud to be a leader in the space of gender equity and equality in sport. With its partner, Kruger Products, the title partner of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, women in curling have defied the odds and achieved their dreams for 40 years and counting.

Women in curling receive equal opportunities, broadcast time and prize money. This bond between the women and girls in the sport means girls can dream to achieve anything they want to do in curling as a player, coach, role model and mentor.

On National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Curling Canada celebrates the positive impacts of women and girls in sports thanks to its partners, donors, volunteers, coaches and athletes.

“Curling has been such an important part of my life and it’s given me the opportunity to grow as an athlete, as a woman and as a parent. I see how my daughter carries herself on a sheet of curling ice, and I see her confidence growing with every game. That’s what our sport can do for young athletes.”
