Ford World Women’s promoters hit the sweet spot

Volunteers for the 2014 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Booster Juice, drew a tasty assignment Aug. 3, when they travelled to the town of St. Stephen for the annual Chocolate Fest.
The long-running festival, held every summer since 1984 in “Canada’s Chocolate Town”, featured a variety of family-friendly events, entertainment and competitions – and, the Ford World Women’s booth, where volunteers promoted the curling classic, coming to the Harbour Station arena, March 15-23 in Saint John. Visitors to the booth also had the opportunity to test their skills in the Rock Pong game.
On Aug. 15, the Ford World Women’s ambassadors turned their focus to the Rockwood Park Golf Course, for the 25th annual Saint John Board of Trade Golf Classic.
A busy summer promotions schedule wrapped up Aug. 27 at the Saint John Dragon Boat Festival, where close to 1,400 participants gathered on the shores of the Kennebecasis River for the annual fundraiser. In addition to the excitement of the races on the 200-metre course, the festival included entertainment courtesy of local musicians and traditional Chinese dancers.
The Ford World Women’s volunteers were out in full force to distribute ticket and event information throughout the day. And, they’ll be doing lots more of the same in communities around the province this fall, with a new curling season set to take to the ice.
