New role for Oona Lehmann in Saint John

Imogen Oona Lehmann will be skipping for the first time at a major international event when she leads Team Germany at the 2014 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Booster Juice, March 15-23, at Harbour Station in Saint John.

The 24-year-old, born and raised in Basel, Switzerland, played third on the country’s 2010 national junior team. At the end of that season, she moved to Germany and signed on with two-time world champion Andrea Schöpp to take the place of longtime third, Monika Wagner.

Oona Lehman gained invaluable experience as Schöpp’s new vice-skip, competing in three consecutive world and European championships. She will be accompanied in Saint John by teammates Stella Heiss, Corinna Scholz and Nicole Muskatewitz.
