The 2015 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship is coming to Halifax, March 28 – Apr. 5 at the city’s Metro Centre and the Host Committee is putting out the first call for volunteers.
“Halifax boasts a long tradition of championship curling and they’ve all been a success, largely due to the commitment of the community’s strong base of volunteer support,” said Graham Harris, co-chair of the Host Committee, along with his brother Mat. “We expect to see that same kind of enthusiasm when we host the 2015 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship.”
Volunteers are being recruited to serve in variety of positions ranging from transportation and security to program sales and hospitality in the Patch. Those interested in taking part in the prestigious event can register online by clicking here.
It will be the first time the Ford World Men’s has been contested at Metro Centre, but the arena has been the scene of several major championships over the past two decades.
Halifax has been host to the Tim Hortons Brier three times, as well as the 1992 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the 2005 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials.
