The Patch, championship curling’s legendary party place, will be housed in the Trade and Convention Centre of Scotiabank Centre, just brief escalator rides from the arena.

Fans are guaranteed a rockin’ good time, highlighted by a nightly lineup of live entertainment, and fuelled by a tasty selection of food and beverages.

You’ll have a number of opportunities to meet with the athletes at daily Team Autograph sessions and Up Close and Personal interviews. And, you could be the hottest shot in the Patch just by registering for the Cool Shots competition.

Take aim at the cash just by signing up for the Cool Shots competition. It’s free to enter the shootout in the small-scale version of the roaring game – played on shuffleboard-style tables with all kinds of curl. Cash prizes are awarded to daily winners who also qualify for the playoffs on championship weekend.

Grand Trans-Oceanic Match

The Grand Trans-Oceanic Match, or GTM as it’s affectionately known, is a fun way for the spectators to spend a mid-week morning socializing and curling. This year the GTM will be held at The Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax on Wednesday morning April 1st. To register, look for Ray & Sylvia at the sign-up table inside the Scotiabank Centre. Your entry fee will include 2 four end games and lunch. Registration will be open from Saturday March 28th through Monday March 30th. So, if you have room, pack your shoes, otherwise slip on sliders and brooms will be available at the club. As always, it will be North America vs. The World!

Pond Hopper Awards Dinner & Dance

The 44th annual Pond Hopper Awards Dinner & Dance takes place on Thursday, April 2 at the World Trade and Convention Centre’s Summit Suite in downtown Halifax. Your musical entertainer for the event, Gordon Tucker, will offer a “Maritime”flavour to our gathering with a variety of music. For further information on how to become a Pond Hopper, or to purchase tickets, please see Jan at the Registration Desk in the Scotiabank Centre from Saturday March 28th through Monday March 30th. Tickets are $75 CDN, cash only, and must be picked-up prior to the event. No tickets will be sold at the door. If you’re traveling with non-Pond Hopper friends, why not consider bringing them along as your guests? The more the merrier!
