Junior Stars

Season of Champions events present the elite players in Canada and the world to display their amazing skills to fans across the country. The Junior Stars program is an integral part of every championship.

The 2016 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship is bringing the most elite curlers from around the globe to Swift Current from March 19 to 27 and 24 of Saskatchewan’s junior curlers can be a part of it!

The Junior Stars provides young champions of the future the opportunity to experience a taste of competitive curling at its very best… and meet with the biggest names in the sport!

At every event on the Season of Champions schedule, junior curlers, between the ages of 12-16, can apply to be a Junior Star. All it takes is to answer, in 50 words or less “Why you would like to be a Ford World Women’s Curling Championship Junior Star?”

Selected applicants become honorary members of one of the teams competing in the championship and receive:

  • A commemorative 2016 FWWCC Junior Stars jacket;
  • Tickets for two guests to attend the draw the Junior Star is featured in;
  • A meet and greet to take photos with their team;
  • A tour of the TSN mobile production truck.

But the best part is they have the chance to be at ice level during the team practice and march out with their team during the pre-game ceremony!

The 2016 FWWCC Junior Stars Contest is open to all Saskatchewan junior curling club participants and school curling team members ages 12-16. There is no cost to enter, one entry per person. Winners are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, parking and meals.

Applications to become a Junior Star are now closed. Those who have been chosen will be contacted. Thank you to all who have applied!
