Canadian Curling and the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games

The Canadian Curling Association (CCA) today announced a number of features to better inform and involve Canadian curling fans about the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver during the curling dates – March 13 – 20, 2010. With Canada hoping for another record setting performance at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver, Canada’s paralympic curling team is going for another gold! They come into the games as the defending Paralympic Gold Medalists from Torino, as well as the 2009 World Wheelchair champions. There are 55 Canadian Athletes participating in 5 different winter paralympic sports this year; a total of 44 countries and 1,350 athletes will be participating in these games in Vancouver. The following are features the CCA will institute on March 13 – the day curling starts at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games: Daily News from the Games – Once a day during the curling competition the “Paralympic Insider” will blog to www.curling.ca about what is happening off the ice with the Canadian team, the latest around the curling venue and the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Check www.curling.ca when you wake each morning to read the latest from the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games and the Vancouver Olympic Centre/Paralympic Centre. Photos from Vancouver 2010 – The Canadian Curling Association will have a photographer at the Hillcrest curling facility for the entire time curling is being played at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games (March 13 – 20). Photos will be posted every day throughout the competition covering all the curling action on www.curling.ca Send the Canadian Curling Team Words of Encouragement – Help cheer on Jim Armstrong and the entire Canadian curling contingent in Vancouver via e-mail through www.curling.ca. Simply send your team message to [email protected] and your wishes will be viewed by our Canadian athletes. Some messages will be posted in the Olympic team locker room for inspiration.
