The Host Committee for the 2011 World Financial Group Continental Cup, January 13 – 16 in St. Albert’s Servus Credit Union Place, today announced two great new ways for fans to get in on the action.
The first is the Half Cup Mini Pack, giving fans the chance to take in the excitement all day Saturday and Sunday – when the competition is really heating up! The Half Cup is priced at just $165 (including service charges and GST).
For those who can’t make it to the weekend games, Single Day Passes are now available for Thursday and Friday at a cost of just $69 per day (including service charges and GST).
Both new ticket packages – on sale starting Tuesday, November 30 at 10:00 am – can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 780-451-8000 or online.
The World Financial Group Continental Cup features the finest players in the world, representing Team North America and Team World in a unique challenge format. Six teams on each side – three men’s and three women’s – compete in four separate disciplines… Team Games, Mixed Doubles, Singles and Skins competitions.
A total of 400 points are awarded during the competition, with varying amounts applied to the four disciplines. The first team to reach 201 points takes the Continental Cup title.
“This is the seventh edition of the Continental Cup and right now the series is tied up at three aside,” said Mike Howes, Host Committee Chair. “What we’ll be seeing is the equivalent of the seventh game showdown… the most exciting scenario in sports!”
Along with all the on-ice action, every draw pass also includes complimentary admission to Keith’s Patch – the legendary party place where curling fans and competitors alike gather for a great lineup of food, refreshments and live entertainment. The Patch will rock to the sounds of The Classics (Wednesday, Jan. 12), Hey Romeo (Thursday, Jan. 13), Karac Hendriks and The Chevelles (Friday, Jan. 14) and Tera Lee and Souled Out (Saturday, Jan. 15).
