A victory over Ontario’s Glenn Howard in the final of the Tim Hortons Brier makes the Jeff Stoughton team the fourth to qualify for the 2011 Canada Cup, November 30 – December 4 in the Cranbrook Rec Plex.
The Manitobans join 2010 Canada Cup champions Howard and Stefanie Lawton – along with Amber Holland, this year’s winner at the Scotties Tournament Hearts – in what promises to be one of the finest fields for the upcoming Season of Champions.
The best teams in the country – seven men’s and seven women’s – will be in Cranbrook for the ninth edition of the Canada Cup. The format provides fans with the unique opportunity to see the country’s top male and female curlers competing in one venue,
The winners of the 2011 Canada Cup will also be the first two teams to qualify for the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings – the Canadian Curling Trials to be held December 1 – 8 in Winnipeg’s MTS Centre.
