The Hearts Are Out All Over Red Deer

The excitement is building for the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the signs are showing up all over the city as Red Deer prepares to host the Canadian women’s curling championship. The “Show Us Your Hearts” promotion put the final brush strokes on the drive to paint the entire town in Scotties colours for the competition, February 18-26 at Westerner Park. The Host Committee distributed dozens of decorative packages to offices and businesses throughout the community as part of the contest to help set the stage for championship week. Judging took place Tuesday, February 14 and Molly B’s Sports Bar at Red Deer Legion #35 came out on top for their creativity in promoting the event.  Molly B’s was awarded the grand prize of two Full Event passes to all 22 draws.  It was a tough task to pick just one winner with Servus Credit Union, the Co-operators and Bethany Collegeside earning honourable mentions.
