Mosaic Takes Its Place on the Season of Champions Curling Schedule

With the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling coming to Moose Jaw’s Mosaic Place November 28 – December 2, it’s only fitting that the company after which the arena is named take a front-and-centre role in the event.

The Host Committee for the Canada Cup has announced that The Mosaic Company will be the presenting sponsor for the first major championship of the upcoming curling season. “As a proud member of the community, we are pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling,” said Brad DeLorey, Director of Public Affairs for The Mosaic Company.  “The game of curling is an important part of the fabric of this province and we view this as a great opportunity to not only promote the company to the rest of the country, but to showcase what makes Saskatchewan such a great place to live, work and do business.” The Capital One Canada Cup will feature the 14 top ranked teams in the country – seven men’s and seven women’s – competing for the championship title and direct entry for the two winners to the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings and the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2014 Olympic Games. “We’re so excited to have such a strong supporter of the community on board for this exciting event,” commented Host Chair Danielle Sicinski.  “Fans will be seeing world-class curling and it’s only appropriate that we have a world-class corporation as part of our team.” The Mosaic Company is one of the world’s leading producers and marketers of concentrated potash and phosphate crop nutrients.  Mosaic’s mission is to help the world grow the food it needs.  The company has committed to growing its Saskatchewan operations with plans to invest almost $6 billion between now and completion in 2021, increasing its annual potash capacity by 50 percent and creating 500 permanent, full-time positions.  More information on the company is available at mosaicco.com. Last summer, Mosaic continued its commitment to being a philanthropic leader in the community with its sponsorship of Mosaic Place – the state-of-the-art venue that will host this year’s Capital One Canada Cup.  Mosaic Place ushered in a new era in entertainment, providing a new home for the Moose Jaw Warriors and creating a gathering place for southern Saskatchewan. “You Gotta Be There” when the hottest teams in competitive curling take to the ice in the beautiful new Mosaic Place.  Full event passes are available right now just by clicking here.
