“Cathy O” Calls the Shots in Capital One Canada Cup

In a highly successful career in competitive curling, spanning more than two decades, Cathy Overton-Clapham has firmly established the reputation as one of the clutch thirds in the history of the game. The Manitoba veteran – better known to fans as “Cathy O” – boasts a lengthy list of achievements including a Canada Cup championship in 2007 throwing third stones for Jennifer Jones. Overton-Clapham has represented her province at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts 12 times, winning a remarkable five gold medals, one silver and three bronze.  The first Scotties victory walk came in 1995 with the Connie Laliberte team before she moved on to play third with Jones and celebrate another four national championships – including three consecutive titles from 2008-2010. The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, marked her debut performance as the leader of Team Manitoba in the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship.
