The Dominion and CCA Solidify Long Term Partnership

Wednesday, 5 December 2012 - Posted by Canadian Curling Association

The Canadian Curling Association (CCA) today announced that The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company (The Dominion) has agreed to a long term extension and enhanced partnership with the CCA through until 2018.

This partnership will see The Dominion remain as an official national supplier of the prestigious Season of Champions portfolio. This will include on-camera category exclusivity in addition to ice and hack signage, rink boards and corporate identification on various event materials.

The Dominion will also be recognized as the official insurer of the Canadian Curling Association including its championship, property and liability needs.

“Our relationship with the CCA and Canadian curlers is very important to us. We are pleased to be able to announce the extension of these relationships through 2018,” commented George Cooke, CEO of The Dominion.

Additionally, The Dominion will be the presenting sponsor of the CIS/CCA University Curling Championships through 2018 – a further sign of The Dominion’s commitment to growing the sport of curling and the long-term development of athletes.

“The Canadian Curling Association’s relationship with The Dominion is an exceptional model of how business and sport collaboratively work together,” stated Greg Stremlaw, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Curling Association. “The Dominion is quite simply a first class organization with a first class team of staff who are also passionate about our sport. We are very pleased to have secured this partnership for the long-term future of our organization.”

Along with being the official insurer of the Canadian Curling Association and national supplier to the CCA’s Season of Champions properties, The Dominion is also a primary sponsor of well over a dozen curling championships, camps and fundraisers, including a bonspiel which has raised more than $1.25 million for charity in the last 10 years.

The Dominion joins Bell Canada, Great Western Brewing and AMJ Campbell Van Lines as CCA Season of Champions official suppliers.

Championship title sponsors for the 2012-13 Season of Champions, which will be televised exclusively by TSN and RDS are Capital One (Capital One Canada Cup), World Financial Group (WFG Continental Cup), M&M Meat Shops (M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors), Kruger Products (Scotties Tournament of Hearts), Tim Hortons (Tim Hortons Brier), and Ford of Canada (Ford World Men’s).

Presenting sponsors will be Mosaic (Capital One Canada Cup), Monsanto (WFG Continental Cup, Tim Hortons Brier), and Booster Juice (Ford World Men’s).
