Cool Shots is Getting Hot in Edmonton

Edmonton is pulling out all the stops to make sure the city’s sixth time hosting the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship proves to be the best ever… and that means breaking its own all-time attendance record established at the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier. With that lofty goal in its sights, the promotions team for the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier is focused on building community awareness for one of the premier events on the Season of Champions schedule, set to hit the ice March 2-10 in Rexall Place. Curlers and curling fans throughout the Edmonton region are getting into the competitive spirit by taking advantage of one of the latest promotions… and taking their best shot at the big prizes in the Cool Shots Club Championship.

Cool Shots is the small-scale version of the grand old game played on shuffleboard-style tables – with miniature rocks that actually curl around guards – and it’s become a huge fan favourite at championship events across the country. The competition includes four rounds of action at the Ellerslie, Granite, Crestwood and Thistle curling clubs.  Each monthly winning team picks up $100 in cash and qualifies for one of the four berths in the finals that will be contested at the Tim Hortons Brier, Saturday, March 2 in The Original 16 Patch. There are still two more chances at each of the four clubs to get involved in the Cool Shots Club Championship.  Click here for entry details. A Cool Shots Public Playdown will also take to the boards February 23 at the NewCap Stage in the West Edmonton Mall.  And, a ticket to every draw at the Brier includes free entry to the daily Cool Shots showdown for the fans that carries on all week in the Patch. “You Gotta Be There” for the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier in the ‘City of Champions’… where you can shoot out the lights, right along with the best curlers in the country.  Prime seats are still available in Rexall Place and you can get yours today by clicking here.
