It marks a fourth appearance for Brewster at the world championship, and the second trip to British Columbia this year after his team competed for Team World at the 2013 World Financial Group Continental Cup in Penticton. The Brewster team has taken the silver medal back to Scotland the past two years. At the 2011 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship in Regina, they lost in the championship final to Team Canada’s Jeff Stoughton. In 2012, playing in Basel, Switzerland, the gold-medal game between Scotland and Canada was decided in an extra end when Glenn Howard drew for a single with last rock to secure the title. The team was skipped in this year’s Scottish championship by David Murdoch, who lost to Canada’s Randy Ferbey in the 2005 Ford World Men’s final, the last time the event was hosted by Victoria. Brewster returns to the world championship with teammates Murdoch, Greg Drummond, Michael Goodfellow and Scott Andrews. “You Gotta Be There” when the best in the game gather in Victoria for the 2013 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship.
