2013 Kraft Celebration Tour is coming to Fort Frances!

Look for a party in Northern Ontario later this summer when the 2013 Kraft Celebration Tour rolls into town with a $25,000 grant for the Fort Frances Curling Club. After earning the most votes in its match-up against the Harry McMaster Athletic Track in Dryden, Ont., the lucky curling club will not only receive a grant to help finance its state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling system, but it will also be front and centre as the community hosts a broadcast of TSN’s SportsCentre.

“From ensuring the survival of our pristine lakes and rivers, to promoting responsible hunting and fishing, Northwestern Ontario’s inhabitants care deeply about the environment and the abundance of nature that we enjoy right on our doorstep,” says the club’s nomination essay. “That’s why the Club’s move to geothermal energy is so important. Not only does it result in tremendous cost savings, it is both green and renewable – it is the future.” TSN will be in Fort Frances to showcase the community – and the curling club – on August 25 during its SportsCentre broadcast.
