Frans returns to skip for Road to the Roar

Joe Frans initially earned his reputation in competitive curling as third for the John Morris squad at the 2001 Canadian Curling Trials, followed by the 2002 Brier where they lost to Randy Ferbey in the championship final. In 2005, he returned to the Brier as second for Wayne Middaugh. Now he’s back to skip for the 2013 Capital One Road to the Roar, presented by Monsanto, Nov. 5-10 in the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex – his original position when he led Ontario’s representatives at the 1993 and 1994 Canadian Junior Men’s Curling Championships. Frans heads up one of 10 Ontario squads in the 24-team field for the Pre-Trials event, which some are calling ROARTARIO. After six intense days of competition, the final four berths will be determined for the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, presented by Monsanto, this December in Winnipeg.
