Moss, with teammates Ashley Green, Rosh Begg and Debbie Moss of the Yellowknife Curling Centre trailed 2-1 after three ends but exploded with a nice score of three points in the fourth when Moss threaded a narrow port to remove shot stone. Smallwood tried everything to get back in the game with no success as Moss stole a single in the sixth end and then two more points in the seventh for an insurmountable lead of 7-2. Smallwood finally got back on the board in the eighth end with two points but was closed out in the ninth when Moss made a double takeout to get out of trouble, and followed that with a draw for two points when Smallwood was heavy on his last stone. The final score was 9-4. Smallwood, backed up by third Tamar Vandenberghe, second Adam Pleasant and lead Jody Smallwood and Sattelberger’s Nunavut squad of Chantelle Masson, Dennis Masson and D’Arcy Masson have been eliminated from further play. Joining Moss in the full round robin is Gary Oke’s team from the Corner Brook CC in Newfoundland/Labrador, with third Susan Curtis, second Terry Oke, and lead Sigrid Fitzpatrick. Both teams will begin play this Sunday in Draw 2 of the championship round robin. The main event will begin Saturday, November 16 at 7:30pm following the opening ceremonies. Games continue until Friday morning, Nov. 22. The semi final will be played that day at 7:30 p.m. with the Championship Final at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 23.
