Stoughton returns to World Financial Group Continental Cup

In a competitive curling career spanning more than two decades at the elite level of the sport, Jeff Stoughton has compiled an extensive list of achievements. The Winnipeg skip has represented Manitoba at the Canadian men’s curling championship 10 times, claiming the legendary Brier Tankard on three occasions. He has also earned a pair of gold medals at the world championship. He has also led teams in the past five Canadian Curling Trials, with the closest call coming in 2005 when he lost the final in a last-rock measurement to Brad Gushue, who went on to win the gold medal for Canada at the 2006 Olympic Games. Stoughton, along with teammates Jon Mead, Reid Carruthers and Mark Nichols, will be part of Team North America for the 2014 World Financial Group Continental Cup, Jan. 16-19 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The Stoughton team also celebrated the victory last year Team North America defeated Team World at the 2013 World Financial Group Continental Cup in Penticton, B.C. “You Gotta Be There” when the top teams in the world, nine of them preparing for a trip to Sochi in February, compete in the World Financial Group Continental Cup.
