The Port Alberni Curling Club is accepting applications for the position of Head Ice Technician for the 2017-2018 season for our six sheet facility. Port Alberni is located at the head of the scenic Alberni Inlet on Vancouver Island. The area abounds with recreational opportunities and has a very enjoyable and relaxed pace of living. The Port Alberni curling season runs from late September until March 31 each year. The Ice Technician position runs from approximately September 1 until April 15 each year. We run daily leagues from Monday to Friday, a Junior Program, Special O Program, several bonspiels and other special events as well as renting out parts of the Club for private events.
The successful applicant will be responsible to ensure that the ice making component is operated efficiently, safely, and effectively. A job description with more detailed requirements is included with this posting. The salary for this position will be negotiated and will be subject to qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have a Level 1 Curling Ice Technician Certificate with equivalent work experience, but preference will be given to candidates who possess a Level 2 Curling Ice Technician Certificate.
