SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Canadian Senior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships get underway Saturday at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside. It will mark the third time the event has been held here in the last seven years, following 2006 and 2009.

Sunday’s championship finals at the Canadian Senior Men & Women’s Curling Championship in Abbotford, BC, promises excitement with both Alberta teams squaring off against opponents from the RE/MAX Centre in St. John’s.
Newfoundland & Labrador’s Cathy Cunningham defeated Nancy Delahunt’s Nova Scotia foursome 5-3 in today’s women’s semi final at the 2012 Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC. Cunningham’s team from RE/MAX Centre in St. John’s now advance to Sunday’s championship final against Cathy King of Alberta.
What a finish to the round robin portion of the Canadian Senior Men’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC. Going into the final draw, Alberta was guaranteed a bye to the final while four other teams at 7-3 were toughing it out for the berths in the semi finals.
Despite a few hiccups in the last draw of the round robin at the Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC, the playoff round is set to go this weekend.
With one round robin draw remaining at the 2012 Canadian Senior Men’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC, Alberta’s Rob Armitage of the Red Deer Curling Centre has earned a bye directly to Sunday’s championship final.
With still one draw to play in the 2012 Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC, Cathy King of the Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton has secured a berth in Sunday’s final following her 8-7 win over Saskatchewan’s Darlene Gillies.
