Glenn Howard’s Ontario sharpshooters are coming to the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling – November 28-December 2 in Moose Jaw’s Mosaic Place – with golden memories of the past Season of Champions.
The City of Lloyminster straddles the Saskatchewan/Alberta border midway between Saskatoon and Edmonton. The region is renowned as the heart of Western Canada’s curling country – making it prime territory for the promotion of the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier.
As the 2012 Tim Hortons Brier wore on in Saskatoon in early March, two storylines became apparent.
When the 2013 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling takes to the ice in Penticton next January, the most accomplished players in the world will be there to compete in one of international curling’s most prestigious championships.
You can’t blame Glenn Howard for thinking it might never happen again. The Coldwater skip who has won seven straight Ontario curling titles while rarely suffering a defeat, went into Sunday night’s Tim Hortons Brier final with a dubious record of having won only one national final in the last five tries.
