You can’t blame Glenn Howard for thinking it might never happen again. The Coldwater skip who has won seven straight Ontario curling titles while rarely suffering a defeat, went into Sunday night’s Tim Hortons Brier final with a dubious record of having won only one national final in the last five tries.
What a difference a year makes. A matter of 365 days ago, at London’s Tim Hortons Brier, the bronze-medal playoff game was one that nobody wanted to play. Not Brad Gushue the winner. And definitely not Kevin Martin, the loser.
Alberta’s Kevin Koe twice scored four points in critical eighth ends Saturday at the Tim Hortons Brier to qualify for tonight’s championship final against Ontario’s Glenn Howard.
