Glenn Howard’s Ontario sharpshooters are coming to the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling – November 28-December 2 in Moose Jaw’s Mosaic Place – with golden memories of the past Season of Champions.
After a pick ruined a potentially winning draw in the tenth end, Glenn Howard drew the four foot in the eleventh to secure a 7-6 victory over Scotland in the Page 1-2 game and a ticket to the final of the 2012 World Men’s Curling Championship on Sunday.
In a tense afternoon game at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, Kiwi Peter de Boer pushed Canada to an extra end and handed Glenn Howard his first defeat of the tournament, and the first-ever win for New Zealand over Canada in a world championship.
“Wow, there were a million rocks in play!” said Team Canada fifth player Scott Howard after a 10-6 win over Sweden for Team Canada at the 2012 World Men’s Curling Championship in Basel, Switzerland, Wednesday afternoon.
Team Canada once again dominated play to notch a fifth straight win and remain tied with Sweden for first place on the leaderboard at the 2012 World Men’s Curling Championship presented by Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd.
