Fresh off winning her second Canadian senior women’s championship earlier in the day, Nova Scotia skip Colleen Pinkney was honoured again Sunday night during the awards ceremony.

New Brunswick, Nova Scotia claim seniors curling titles

Wayne Tallon took a long-awaited step to the top level of the podium at a Canadian curling championship on Sunday at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside, P.E.I.

Late Friday night, it appeared that Howard Rajala’s 8-3 record would not make a tiebreaker let alone the playoffs.  But a stumble by PEI in that last round allowed Ontario to slip in the playoff picture and now, are just one win away from bringing the title to Ottawa.

Alberta’s Deb Santos of the St. Albert CC and teammates, Jackie Rae Greening, Diana Backer and Glenna Rubin will advance to Sunday’s championship final at the 2013 Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside, PEI.

Given a second life at the end of the round robin when PEI lost a game that would have eliminated Rajala, the Rideau CC squad from Ottawa ended Rod MacDonald’s hopes of winning this championship in his home province.
