Team Canada got a Parliament Hill sendoff on Tuesday in preparation for its trip to Riga, Latvia, for the 2013 World Women’s Curling Championship.
Rachel Homan won her first Canadian women’s curling championship on Sunday night, defeating Jennifer Jones of Manitoba 9-6 in the final of the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston.
Kelly Scott was determined to put the most recent losses behind her and focus on winning instead, and that’s what she and her B.C. team did – defeating Heather Nedohin and Team Canada to win the bronze medal at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Sunday afternoon.
Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones rebounded from a loss to Ontario on Saturday night to earn her spot in the Final of the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts after defeating Team Canada’s Heather Nedohin 8-5 in the Semifinal on Sunday morning.
The first and second All-Star teams at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts were announced, with Team Manitoba claiming three of the first-team awards.
