B.C. and New Brunswick keep their eyes on playoff positions

On the last day of round robin play at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, all eyes were on playoff positions – especially the eyes of B.C.’s Kelly Scott and New Brunswick’s Andrea Crawford.

 
B.C. moves up to fourth place after Draw 14 at the Scotties

When Draw 14 began on Thursday evening, B.C. and Saskatchewan were tied in the standings behind Manitoba, Ontario and Team Canada. By the end of Draw 14, Kelly Scott had moved alone into fourth place at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

 
Big wins in the battle for playoff positions

After 13 draws at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Manitoba (7-0), Ontario (6-1), Canada (6-2) and Saskatchewan (5-3) hold the top four spots in the round robin standings. But the rest of the field – including New Brunswick and PEI (both sitting at 4-4) and B.C. (4-3) – is working its way up from below, and Thursday afternoon’s games provided an opportunity to keep the leaders in sight.

 
Merklinger keeps her focus on Sochi 2014

Manitoba alone in first place after Draw 12

In the battle of the undefeated teams, it was Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones who hung on to her undefeated record, winning over Rachel Homan 9-7 on Thursday morning at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
