With still one draw to play in the 2012 Canadian Senior Women’s Curling Championship in Abbotsford, BC, Cathy King of the Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton has secured a berth in Sunday’s final following her 8-7 win over Saskatchewan’s Darlene Gillies.
In a battle of 7-1 teams, Alberta’s Rob Armitage emerged unscathed dumping BC’s Dennis Graber and now sits alone in first place, one win away from the bye to Sunday’s championship final.
Life continued to look good for the female Albertans at this year’s Canadian Senior Curling Championships presented by Raymond James leading into today`s eleventh draw.
As the subject indicates, this draw was one of four today and started at 0800. Thanks to the Best Western host hotel, breakfast for the 12 teams involved in this first of four draws today was ready at 0600.
The province with the oil seems to have spawned another natural resource, curlers, and very good ones.
