There are now no unbeaten teams at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Napanee. Tuesday evening, both the Alberta men and women tasted defeat for the first time.
Ernie Richardson has long been known as “The King” in curling circles. The king he was and the king he remains, because no other curler has ever skipped a team to four Brier and world titles, a feat Richardson and his team accomplished more than 40 years ago.
Ontario, skipped by Mat Camm of Ottawa, survived a resilient Newfoundland/Labrador squad skipped by Colin Thomas of St. John’s, 6-4 in this morning’s semi-final to advance to tonight’s M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior men’s final
After moving to Victoria for competitive curling, I realized it was one of the toughest regions to win. We had some highly competitive games with another very good local team. Sometimes we won, sometimes we lost.
