The field’s almost full for the Brier

After a dramatic day of provincial play across the country Feb. 10, only one spot is open for the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier – the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship – March 2-10 in Edmonton’s Rexall Place.

Heggestad – Canadian Mixed Curling Champion!

Ontario’s Cory Heggestad, representing the Orillia Curling Club, won the 50th edition of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship dominating Nova Scotia’s Brent MacDougall 10-3 in today’s final at the TMR Curling Club in Montreal.

 
It’s Nova Scotia Against Ontario For The Mixed Title!

Tonight’s semi final was action-packed with terrific shots and unusual scenarios but, much to the disappointment of the pro-Quebec crowd, Ontario’s Cory Heggestad edged Montreal’s Mike Fournier 9-8 in an extra end.
