The 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts – the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship – is booked into Kingston’s K-Rock Centre, February 16-24 and the top teams in the country are getting prepared to compete for a spot in the big show.
A victory at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts – the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship – earned Heather Nedohin the right to compete as Team Canada in this year’s Scotties in Kingston.
The 2012 curling campaign represented a breakthrough year for Heather Nedohin, highlighted by a celebration of gold at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer and a bronze medal at the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship in Lethbridge.
Shouts of “hurry hard” rang loudly throughout the Cherry Lane Shopping Centre September 26 as a group of students from Wiltse Elementary School played Rocks and Rings with Canada’s reigning women’s curling champions.
Heather Nedohin – Heather Godberson at that time – made her presence known on the competitive scene in 1996, skipping her young team to the top of the podium in both the Canadian and World junior curling championships.
