There were no surprises coming out of the Manitoba or Northwest Territories/Yukon Scotties playdowns this year, as a pair of long-time contenders earned the right to compete in the 2013 Canadian Women’s Curling Championship.
When the top teams in women’s curling hit the ice February 16-24 in Kingston for the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, fans will see a familiar smiling face wearing British Columbia colours.
The second team to lock down a spot in the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was determined January 13 at the Fort Smith Curling Club in the Northwest Territories when Kerry Galusha played her way to another shot at the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship.
Six teams remained in contention for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts title on Thursday morning but defending champion Amber Holland of Kronau, Sask., was facing must-win situations tonight against Saskatchewan and in any future tiebreakers.
