Fan Appreciation Night marks the official start of the party in Red Deer at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and curling fans are ready for one of the biggest celebrations of the year.
The second stage of the Cool Shots club challenge was hosted by the Red Deer Curling Centre February 6-10 with 48 teams shooting for the chance to qualify for the grand championship on opening Saturday at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts – the Canadian women’s curling championship.
The 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts Cool Shots club challenge packed the house at the Innisfail Curling Club January 23-25 where Richard and Sandy Schrader claimed the $400 cash prize and Opening Weekend passes to the Scotties.
Saturday, February 18 is the day the best women’s teams in the country embark on a weeklong quest for Canada’s national curling crown at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer.
The Alberta Sport Development Centre hosts its annual Breakfast of Champions, November 3rd from 7 – 9 am in the Frontier Room at Westerner Park – and this year’s guest speaker is Jennifer Jones, one of the most accomplished champions in Canadian women’s curling.
